2022 - December
Dec. 22, 2022 2:00 PM
Dear Milford Families, Faculty and Staff, and Community Members,
As we head into a much deserved holiday break, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for all you do for the Milford School District. We are proud of what has been accomplished in the first part of this school year and look forward to 2023. We know that without the hard work and commitment of our entire community, we couldn't celebrate such success. I remain hopeful that as partners and as a community, we will continue to make progress, overcome challenges, reach our goals, and provide students with the education and support they deserve.
I wish you the happiest of holidays, peace, love and joy. Have a safe, fun, and relaxing school vacation week with your friends and loved ones.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Superintendent Christi Michaud

Dear Milford Parents, Faculty and Staff, and Students,
Thanks very much to those of you who shared your thoughts and concerns with us today regarding the decision to keep schools open. Please know that a decision regarding a weather related school closing can be very challenging on a day like today. We appreciate your understanding and kindness despite the frustrations.
Like other school officials throughout the state, I participated in a state weather meeting yesterday afternoon, and engaged in discussions last evening and this morning before 5a.m. with the Superintendents of Hollis/Brookline, Mason, and Amherst. We made a decision that we felt was appropriate at that time and in consultation with road officials.
Early this morning, it was raining in our area and the change to light, wet snow came on quickly after our ability to shift to a closing or a delay. Buses and staff were already commuting by the time the snow began to fall. Once a decision is made, we can not go back, therefore, our protocol is to go slow, pull all hands on deck, and ensure everyone gets to school safely.
Everyone, including our road crews, bus drivers, School and SAU teams, students, parents, teachers, and substitutes did an incredible job today working together, staying focused, and making the best of a difficult day. I thank you all.
Student absences will be excused today.
Again, I appreciate your messages and welcome additional feedback. Student and staff safety remain a top priority for us all.
